candlelighterswa.org - Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of Western WA was founded in 1977 by a group of parents whose children were being treated for cancer at Seattle Children's Hospital. The original grassroots group laid the foundation for the next 32 years of parents helping parents because of a shared experience...that being a pediatric cancer diagnosis.

conniewalk.org - Connie Prekeges' daughters founded this organization in her memory. To calm them down or to break up fights, Connie always told her kids to "go take a walk" and that's what they did. Candlelighters is partnering with the Prekeges to create awareness and raise funds for childhood cancer issues by having a statewide walk 5ks in Seattle, Tacoma, Spokane, Walla Walla. Please go to their site to sign up for next year or to volunteer to host a walk in your area. We would love to get coordinators in more places across the state. We will provide you with materials and support to ensure your success.

rmhcseattle.org - Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Western Washington & Alaska (RMHC), they support seriously ill children and their families by providing a “home-away-from-home” to help families who must leave their homes to be near Seattle Children's Hospital. Candlelighters of WWA helped get the first Seattle house built in the early 80's and it is now the largest RMH in the world.
